Here I’ve compiled the best/most hilarious Always Sunny episodes from the past 4 seasons in order to get everyone excited for the upcoming 5th season starting September 17th on FX. If you haven’t seen any of these before there are links included. Each episode has a short summary, why it’s hilarious, and a memorable quote.

10. Season 4 Episode 4 | Mac’s Banging the Waitress .torrent .nzb

Charlie realizes the waitress is sleeping with someone and asks Mac to beat up of her new lover for him. Meanwhile, Dennis is crushed because Charlie considers Mac a better friend than himself and attempts to strengthen their friendship. This episode also features “Project Badass”, Charlie binge drinking and bed wetting, and Dennis’s extensive self-porn collection.

Waitress: “Oh we’re busted? Because you look pretty busted.”
Charlie: “Well you know this is the best way to hide in my apartment there’s not a lot of hiding…”
Dennis: “God damnit! Charlie I knew we shouldn’t have done this in the bed! Why did you have to get on top of me?”
Charlie: “Well that’s the only way to hide and have it not be noticeable in this apartment, there is no where to hide in here!”

9. Season 2 Episode 9 | Charlie Goes America All Over Everybody’s Ass .torrent .nzb

In this episode Mac and Dennis split against Charlie and Dee over smoking in the bar. Paddy’s Pub becomes an “anything-goes” zone and Charlie becomes ultra-patriotic. Frank and his Vietnamese gambling buddies have control of the basement while Mac and Dennis attempt to film their own version of Girls Gone Wild at the bar. The McPoyle brothers and sister make an appearance and there is also Mardi Gras beads, a stabbing, and a shooting.

Charlie: “Is everyone going to tread on me?”
Charlie(sings): “I’m gunna rise up. I’m gunna kick a little ass, I’m gunna kick some ass in the USA. I’m gunna climb a mountain, I’m gunna sew a flag, I’m gunna fly on an eagle. 8. Season 2 Episode 5 | 100 Dollar Baby .torrent .nzb

In 100 Dollar Baby Frank teaches Dee to box in order to relive his Franky Fast-Hands glory days. Dennis and Mac discover an unsanctioned underground boxing ring and begin “training” Charlie, whose fighter name becomes Clownbaby, in order to make some money. Everything begins to fall apart when both fighters start taking steroids.  This episode features a hilarious training montage to the tune of You’re the Best Around by Joe Esposito, as well as some classic gang betrayal.

Female Boxer: “She looks like a holocaust victim in pageant makeup.”
Sweet Dee: “I’ll eat your babies bitch!”

7. Season 2 Episode 3 | Dennis & Dee go on Welfare .torrent .nzb

Dennis and Dee quit their jobs at the bar in order to live off of unemployment and welfare. Mac and Dennis attempt to exploit free labor from the unemployment office and try to hire some “slaves”. Determined to stay on welfare Dennis and Dee smoke crack in order to fail a drug test. Frank moves his money to Charlie’s account to avoid losing money in his divorce, so Charlie and Mac go on a spending spree consisting of fancy tuxedos and high-class hookers.

Dennis: “We missed our doctor appointment.”
Sweet Dee: “Well only by an hour, if we hurry maybe they’ll still see us.”
Dennis: “That was yesterday, we missed our appointment by an hour and a day.”

6. Season 3 Episode 9 | Sweet Dee’s Dating a Retard .torrent .nzb

This episode is the inspiration for the season 4 finale, one of the funniest episodes on this list. The gang is amazed that Dee’s supposedly retarded boyfriend is an up-and-coming musician so they decide to form a band. Mac, Frank, and Charlie’s band sings the original Nightman song and later Charlie and Dennis create the famous Dayman song. Dennis’s hilarious obsession with glam-rock, Sweet Dee’s retarded boyfriend confusion, and Charlie’s misunderstood lyrics make this one of the funniest episodes of season 3.

Charlie(sings): “You make me want to cry, you make me want to die. I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you Nightman. Every night you come into my room and pin me down with your strong arms. You pin me down, and I try to fight you. You come inside me. You fill me up and…”
Mac: “Charlie hold on a second, the first half of that song was pretty cool, but what’s with the second half?”
Charlie: “It’s about the nightman, like you know like filling me up, and I become him. I become the spirit of the nightman.”
Mac:  ”But it sounds like a song where a man breaks into your house and rapes you.”
Charlie: “What? Where are you getting that from?”

5. Season 3 Episode 15 | The Gang Dances their Asses Off .torrent .nzb

Charlie accidentally puts the bar up for first prize in a dance marathon contest and the gang has to win it back. Everyone is obsessed with Frank’s new ranking system and trys to eliminate one-another in order to be highest ranked when the contest is over. This episode features Charlie’s 8th-grade dance recital moves, the waitress grinding on a homeless man, a “powerbar-ball” filled with cough medicine, and Rickety Cricket.

Mac: “I swear to god you have lice man, I see little bugs crawling all over your body.”
Charlie: “You see what that is? That’s a man wearing glitter because I tried to make myself look a little fancy for this dance competition.

4. Season 3 Episode 6 | The Gang Solves the North Korea Situation .torrent .nzb

The gang feels threatened by the Koreans down the street becoming the last stop at the annual pub crawl. To find out the Korean’s secret micro-brew recipe Dennis and Charlie infiltrate the restaurant and when they are thrown out Charlie meets a new Korean girlfriend. Mac and Frank attempt to make their own micro-brew with anti-freeze and Dee tries to sleep with whoever will give her the recipe. This episode also shows an almost wet t-shirt contest with Charlie’s new friend and has the introduction of “The Duster”, Mac’s jacket that reoccurs throughout the rest of seasons 3 and 4.

Charlie: “Awwww shit, look at that door dude. See that door right there, the door marked pirate. You think a pirate lives in there?”
Dennis: (pauses)”I see a door marked private, is that the door you’re talking about?”
Charlie: “No, I was talking about the.. I didn’t say, what did you hear?”

3. Season 4 Episode 2 | The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis .torrent .nzb

After Charlie runs the bar on a gas generator for a week because of high energy costs the gang gets an idea to buy up a bunch of gasoline and resell it when prices skyrocket. The gang also realizes that they haven’t been sticking to their Brains, Looks, and Wildcard dynamic so all of their previous plans have failed. Meanwhile, Frank and Dee are trying to prove that Dee’s biological father is really supporting terrorists and plan to waterboard him into a confession in order to collect reward money. There aren’t many better ‘Sunny’ moments than when Charlie cuts the breaks in the van and when they are spitting fireballs in the parking lot. Episode also includes Dee getting waterboarded in a urinal, Charlie in oil-tycoon garb soliciting an elderly woman, and one of Dennis’s famous big breasted women diagrams.

Dennis: “Alright buddy now explain to me how exactly we are going to calculate the totals.”
Charlie: “Oh it’s easy dude, you pour the gas into the car using one of these funnels and I count how much gas is going into the car.”
Dennis:  ”Let me stop you right there, how exactly do you plan on counting a liquid?”
Charlie: “Uhhh, I know how to count dude.”

2. Season 4 Episode 13 | The Nightman Cometh .torrent .nzb

It was a toss up between this season 4 finale and Mac and Charlie Die, so I had to re-watch both episodes and I have to admit I’m satisfied with this order. In The Nightman Cometh Charlie puts on a musical in order to woo the waitress, music from previously mentioned Season 3 Episode 9 is included in this work as well as other songs written for the play. By far, this is the most quotable episode in Always Sunny history and it’s going to be incredibly challenging for the season 5 premiere to top this episode. With Charlie directing this play and Dennis, Dee, Mac, and Frank all acting in it makes it pure comedy gold. The sexually misunderstood Nightman song does not make an appearance, but a new, equally sexual, “Troll Toll” song as well as the Dayman song are featured. This episode was so popular the gang has hosted this play live at several different venues and continues to do so to promote their upcoming season 5.

Dennis: “You know what it is bitch, BANG!”

1. Season 4 Episode 5-6 | Mac and Charlie Die .torrent .nzb

This episode has everything. It has the duster, Mac with a concussion, Charlie and Mac addicted to uppers, and Frank and Dennis exploring the secret sex underworld. Never have I laughed so hard at ANYTHING on TV besides this. Scenes with Charlie trying to commit suicide as Mac explains the plan, Dee on the bus, and Charlie removing his teeth on command are some of the most hilarious moments this show has ever had. This episode also includes a glory hole, Dennis’s sexy new roommates, Frank’s Charlie-esque mannequin, guns, and grenades. Furthermore, this is a 2 part episodes, running at 45 minutes. The previous 2-parter (The Gang Gets Wacked) didn’t have enough constant humor to make it to this top 10 list, that is no where near the case for Mac and Charlie Die.
