Top 10 Must-See Trailers of September
Part two of a monthly segment showcasing the best trailers for the most highly anticipated movies. This month we have, in no particular order, The Men Who Stare at Goats, Defendor, Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, Mother, The Tournament, Inception, Youth in Revolt, Avatar, Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, and How To Seduce Difficult Women. Be sure to check back every month for the best 10 new trailers! Or see last month’s top 10 here.
The Men Who Stare at Goats a comical movie adaptation of the popular book by the same name. Starring Ewan McGregor, George Clooney, and Kevin Spacey this movie will definitely be one of the best to look forward to.
Defendor not your typical superhero movie. Starring Woody Harrelson, this dark comedy is coming to the Toronto Film Festival later this month.
Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day by only seeing the trailer, any avid Boondock Saints fan will tell you that this is not going to live up to the original. Regardless, it’s still something I plan to see and I wish the best for it’s success. No Willem Dafoe really kills it though.
Mother from the Writer/Director of “The Host” and “Memories of Murder” comes a new murder thriller/drama. No one does these types of films better than Joon-ho Bong. This will be a must see.
The Tournament an contest for assassins to identify the best killer in the world. A pure action film with a decent story line, these have been hard to come by in American movies recently.
Inception a new mental thriller from Director Christopher Nolan (Memento/The Dark Knight) starring Leonardo DiCaprio. This is a pretty decent teaser trailer shown with an amazing score. I’m excited for newer trailers for this movie to come out to learn what it’s really about.
Youth in Revolt Michael Cera typecasted, once again, into a coming of age tale. Based off a popular book, this comedy will most likely play out to be quite entertaining. Plus, it includes Zach Galifianakis which is awesome.
Avatar James Cameron directed, partial animated, sci-fi action movie. Many are saying this trailer was a flop (including me) but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt since it’s meant to be viewed in 3D. However, it’s going to take some major hype to get some strong support behind this film in time for a December release.
Brief Interviews with Hideous Men written and directed by The Office’s John Krasinski (Jim). This sexually charged comedy regarding the truth about how men see women seems ready to deliver. It’s always nice seeing people break away from their roles on TV to try film, I hope Krasinski can succeed.
How To Seduce Difficult Women another sexually charged comedy, “How To Seduce Difficult Women” revolves around a french-american writer teaching a class to ten relationship desperate men. I’m thinking a better done School for Scoundrels and an R-rating.
